Financial Accounting
Financial Accounting Third Edition has been written for a one-semester (two quarter) sequence in introductory financial accounting. Our goal is to include the most educationally effective blend of theory and practice. Whereas practice is the main focus, we discuss accounting concepts and the uses of accounting information as they apply to the topics in each chapter. The textbook is organized in a fairly traditional manner. We do not feel that rearranging the order of coverage just for the sake of being different is sound pedagogy. On the other hand, we have chosen to combine the treatment of some topics (e.g, current and noncurrent investments, inflation and international accounting) while reducing that of other topics. We believe this blend of topics will provide a more realistic and useful introduction to accounting.
