In the previous edition we tried to develop a teachable and relevant information system package. The subject area was new relative to traditional accounting, algebra, statistics, and other course. In present edition, an improved definition and treatment of the subject area has been provided. Also, the authors feel that teachability has been improved. Concepts that pertain to any kind of information system, computer based or not, and that are applicable to various type of organization. The text continues to contain appendix material which deals with major technical tools, in one way or another, are included in or support the development of information systems.
