Learning and Memory: An Introduction
This book is a brief introduction to the phenomena of learning and memory. We know a great deal about the conditions under which learning occurs. But, as yet, we know little about the bases of learning. The nature of the "machinery" underlying learning, memory, and complex intellectual processes is perhaps the most intriguing as well as important scientific problem. Of course, it is of immense practical importance that we understand these phenomena since our behaviour depends so fundamentally upon the cumulative and lasting effects of our experiences.
